Old World Fountains revives the timeless, decorative traits of the Renaissance, Baroque and Florentine periods through the precise use of a 17th Century technique developed to create Scagliola Stone, also known as Pietra la Luna, or Moonstone, almost lost through the centuries.

Uniquely created from a rare molding process and age-old technique originated by European artisan Monks, this process was handed down through the centuries by diligent craftsmen to create beautiful works of art and significant masterpieces, some still residing in the Uffizi Museum in Florence, Italy.

Pietra la Luna, or Moonstone, is an impressive blend of marble crystals and selected fragments of limestone, travertine and colored pigments fashioned to capture the cultural heritage and design of antique, decorative Italian marble.

BACCHUS FOUNTAIN- this breathtaking wall fountain reveals the mythical Italian god of wine whose flowing hair frames his face amidst the subtly carved elements of a grape and leaf motif. Accented by fluted columns, water gracefully flows like wine from the god’s lips into two ornate basins.
